Missionary's heart

Matthew 28:18-20

18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Jesus called us to make disciples of all nations. We need to know that we are called of the Lord and to have His heart. As believers, we have a mandate to tell the world about Jesus Christ. It may not be easy for us to do, but to know ourselves as He knows us, be loved, be equipped as believers, and be sent by the Lord with His Holy Spirit baptising us in fire will make us effective workers. We may not know the whole Bible, but what we have learned about Him will be enough to share with others His goodness and His love that people will question about our faith.

Missions is a way for us to reach out and share the good news, but we must remember that we don't necessary have to go out of the country to reach other people with the gospel. We can do this with those we know. Praying will help us. Ask the Lord for His passion and heart for reaching the lost, so that we will desire to fulfill His work in our lives.

Head knowledge is not useful. We must have a heart to act out the truth and sharing it with us. That is applying our faith and nourishing our bodies. Believe you have been given the abilities to do His work and be willing to act on what He tells you.

We must reach out to not only those we know, but to those we don't know and children are included in this process. Children can be very powerful for the Lord when trained and used for His purpose. Remember that when you are called for children ministry or a child is called to ministry, there will always be challenges along the way because the enemy knows the power of children just as he knows the influence of adults. His purpose is to seek, kill, and destroy the destiny of the next generation and he will do anything to keep them bound, so we must pray for the children and the children workers as we do with others.
