Palm Sunday and Passover

It is Palm Sunday and the coming of the Passover. Let us remember our Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ who was sacrificed for our sins as a perfect Lamb.

The Israelites were given specific instructions by the Lord through Moses that they should each sacrifice a perfect lamb according to the size of the family and if some families didn't have a large enough lamb that they could go to those who did have a large lamb and join with them to celebrate the passover. It is the time when the Lord told them the angel of death would come and destroy the first born of Egypt and those that remained in their homes, which was the Israelites would live. The Lord would passover them, but in order for this to happen they had to obey the Lord's instructions to use the blood and paint it over their door posts. The lamb was burned in fire. They had to eat in haste the passover lamb with their girdles, sandals on, and holding their staff in their hands. Nobody was to leave the house. Nothing was to be leftover or else it had to be burned. God preserved His people and He kept His promise that all the first born would be dedicated to Himself.
