I used Photoshop to produce this and used the layer effects like bevel and emboss, outer glow, and stroke. I added feathers to the background. I put a shadow behind the photo. The heart was made in Illustrator using gradiants. I cut out a heart shape from a black square box and dimmed down the opacity. I enhanced the image with curves and adjustment level. I also used free transform to shrink the photo to fit into this box. The texture in the background was taken from an orchid flower that I took. It's much larger than the size of the canvas.
